A Shot in the Dark

Along with a handful of other talented photographers, I’ll have some photos hanging in an upcoming gallery show at The Strange on August 21. The show is being organized by friend and music writer Molly Bergen, it should be a great evening. I hope you can make it.

There will be free drinks and live performances by Le Switch, HTML Pinafore, Client Heidorn, and Seven Saturday.

July 2010 Wrap-Up

In lieu of regular email blasts, at the end of each month I write a brief overview of what I’ve been up to and put together a mixtape of ten songs I listened to in the last month. If you’re interested in subscribing to my quarterly email blast (only four emails a year!) click on the Quarterly Report at the bottom of the page.

Happenings

July was busy because of my brother’s wedding. But it all went smoothly and the wedding was great. Working on some exciting projects that hopefully will pan out sooner rather than later. I was admitted to the Missouri Photo Workshop so will be attending that in late September.

This Ain’t a Scene Volume 1 needs to be finished. Might be doing something cool with FYF Fest in September. But for August I’m heading up to San Francisco for Outside Lands 2010.

The Ski Hut on Mt. Baldy

Earlier in July I hiked to the summit of Mt. Baldy with my friend Sarah; it was the first time I had been on the summit since 7th or 8th grade. We hiked past the ski hut and beneath the bowl on the way up and then descended on the Devil’s Backbone trail, past the ski resort, and down the fire road. The fire road was much longer than I remember. It was a beautiful day.

Mt. Baldy is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains at 10, 064 feet.
